The Art of Shopping, Changed

So, I went grocery shopping earlier today. I did my usual by hitting the 99 Cent store & then the Ralphs supermarket. I grabbed everything I needed in Ralphs & I proceeded to the checkout only to find that this store has stopped using plastic bags. And, paper bags come at a fee. I asked the cashier when they started this big change & she said “for about a month”… I replied with “I’ve been gone for a month”. Luckily, I do carry a few of those handy green-friendly shopping bags in my car, but I was caught off guard. I left with a basket of pilled up bag-less goods. It looked like I left without paying, but nevertheless, I am down with the green movement.
