VISION / GOALS / PROCESS

Norton Identity Safe is a convenient password manager and autofilling app that is available on iOS, Android, and desktops. As lead designer, I created experiences for the new desktop extension, mobile Safari extension, and app enhancements.

Desktop Extension: I had the awesome opportunity to create the first Identity Safe extension for users. This was very important because we needed to fill the gap we left in Firefox support for this product. In all of our supported browsers, we have a toolbar that contains Identity Safe (except for Firefox due to technical issues). The goal here was to create a new standalone cross-browser extension that would help us phase out user’s dependency on our toolbar.

I wanted to make sure we had a great product that offered a clean experience while leveraging full window screens for the Vault Portal UI and an extension dropdown UI that surfaced the most relevant information. I wanted to create a mini dashboard feel and deliver a cleaner UI than our competitors.

This new extension meant that users had to be onboarded by a product alert, installation from the portal page, and then they have the possibility of taking a tour. The impact of all is is that we can offer this extension across all major browsers and on PC and Mac, which has been unsupported.

iOS Safari Extension: Our iOS app was very solid and it provided one of the best Identity Safe experiences for users that we had to offer. However, we needed to make the product more sticky for users by having Safari integration. Previously, users had to use the in-app browser to autofill on their favorite sites. My goal was to encourage them to set up the Safari extension so they could easily autofill all of their information in their default browser. The main points of this project were the setup offer, the tutorial page, and then the Safari UI design. The problem of not being able to easily use Identity Safe with Safari was solved by the work I produced on this mobile product.
