VISION / GOALS / PROCESS

Norton Secure Login is a two-factor authentication product that allows users to have more than one step beyond password protection for verification. I really loved leading the design on this product due to the amount of effort that was needed. The entire experience from sign up and sign in to the account settings page had to be rebuilt from the ground up. This resulted in over 100 screens, plenty of flows and a completely brand new modern experience for our users.

Set up Flow: My design challenge here was to get users through the set up flow with more ease than ever before. The solution was to create a new and bold experience that was driven by easy to see input fields, clearly stated text, and a path that we encouraged them to take. In the previous flow, users had a lot of options presented to them, at first, with equal weight. There was a lot of copy relating to each method for 2FA. My goal was to minimize this by presenting users with the VIP App push flow first. This path was considered to be our easiest and it allowed users to enter their phone number, receive a text with the app store link, install it, and then after entering their ID#, we could send a push message for them to approve and confirm this chosen method. If users wanted another option, they were minimized in a smaller menu instead of being presented all at once with no clear hierarchy or desired path.

Sign In Flow:  Similar to the set up flow, I wanted to present all information and fields clearly to users. This was achieved by a minimal UI design that presented users with clean copy.

Account Settings: A  lot of things already made sense in our previous design, on the surface, but the look had to be elevated. However, major elements like dealing with your 2FA settings were hidden with too many clicks to see all of the information or to turn the feature on and off. Users can now clearly see all of their methods on the main account page with this surfaced information and it allows them to edit their methods easily.

NSL UX Story

I designed the layouts of each extension website, home page, etc, which includes the typography, iconography,  graphics, and structure. I did not build the websites, apps, or extensions.
